Sydney’s OG party palace returns this month, with the beloved boozer set to reopen this December with a new Italo-disco cocktail bar, a wine bar, public bar, beer garden and club.

For the first time, The Abercrombie’s top floor and rooftop will open to the public as Casa Rosa, an Italo-disco cocktail bar with an outdoor terrace. Head upstairs for Mediterranean-style share plates and snacks, such as blistered grapes with prosciutto and vincotto, pizza fritto with stracciatella and salted cod croquettes.

The open-air bar will be the perfect place to catch an inner city sunset, cocktail in hand. The drinks list will feature Italian sippers like a sgroppino spiked with blood orange sorbet and topped with pet nat, as well as the Ivy League cocktail, a caffeinated concoction made from coffee, cognac, chinotto and habanero. Expect a soundtrack of Italian disco beats, with music playing into the early hours of the morning, with dancing on the tables encouraged.

The interiors take their inspiration from the iconic Palazzo Chupi ‘pink house’ in New York, with a fabulously eclectic fit-out of Neapolitan colour-washed walls, plush green lounges and yellow and black terrazzo tables with chic scalloped edges.

“Our vision for The Abercrombie is a welcoming, day-to-late-night destination for Sydney that delivers a diverse range of experiences,” explains CEO of Solotel, Elliot Solomon.

“We want it to be a place that the local community feel is their own, whether that’s picking up a bottle of wine, enjoying a slice of pizza in the beer garden, or soaking up the sun on the rooftop. The Abercrombie is a place you can come to any day, night, or early morning and have a fun experience.”

When you’re ready to move on, you can head downstairs to Lil Sis – a wine bar and bottle shop – or to the ground-floor public bar, beer garden and club. Basically, you never need to leave.

In true Abercrombie-style, the mega-venue will kick off with a 36-hour party with non-stop programming, running from Friday, December 23 until 5am on Christmas Day.
