When some of the best Dans in hospitality team up with bottle shop powerhouse Dan Murphy’s, you’ll want to listen up and bow down to the Dans. 

For a special limited run, Dan Hunter (Brae), Daniel Puskas (Sixpenny), Daniel Wilson (Yakimono) and Dan Murphy’s are pulling together the old-school diner of your dreams.

The pop-up takes its cues from classic Americana-style diners, with a little less weak filter coffee and a whole lot more fine dining involved. Fried chicken and buttermilk waffles get the five-star treatment with a togorashi maple syrup topping. Classic patty melts level up with wagyu beef, sourdough, and Bloody Mary-spiced crispy onions.

Cob salad by Dan Wilson marries smoked almonds, macadamia cheese, avocado and iceberg lettuce, and Dan Hunter goes wild with a pork and venison meatloaf.

Fries are good, but crinkle-cut disco fries with chicken and eggplant gravy, mozzarella and basil are better, and the pie cabinet gets upgraded thanks to peach cobbler doughnuts and banana splits doused in spiced-rum caramel.

It wouldn’t be a Dan Murphy’s party without a drink or two, would it? Dan Docherty of Collingwood’s Commis has curated a Dan-tastic drinks list including the Dan Murphizz, a Danhattan, and Dan’s Super-Extra Ultra-Deluxe Double-Straw Honey Wattle White Light Vodka Shake. Say that twice fast.

Staged over the 10 days of at Fed Square, 15 to 24 March, this full-service restaurant and bar will be one of the hottest tables in town this month.
