McDonald’s summer menu has dropped and it features some pretty exciting Aussie classics like pineapple fritters and a pineapple sundae.

Launching tomorrow January 10, the full range also includes a TimTam Chocolate McFlurry, McCrispy BBQ Bacon Deluxe, and the return of the Aussie Angus Deluxe.

But back to the pineapple.

Sweet and juicy pineapple rings, covered in a crisp coating are fried until golden and piping hot and are the perfect contrast to the sweet and tart pineapple sundae – available in both chocolate and vanilla – with pineapple sauce and golden pineapple chunks.

The Australian classic follows in the steps of last summer’s potato scallop, a first for McDonald’s and a staple of childhood beach days.

Macca’s marketing director Samantha McLeod said, “Following the success of our Potato Scallops last summer, we are excited to be bringing you a new and exciting take on the ultimate snack item this year with the introduction of Pineapple Fritters.

“Whether you prefer your pineapple served warm or cold, we’re giving our Macca’s fans both this summer to put them to the taste test – we can’t wait to hear what our customers think”.

The new summer menu items will be available across Macca’s restaurants nationwide, via the MyMacca’s app and McDelivery from 10 January, for a limited time only.
