You burger believe it.
Cult US burger joint Five Guys is set to open its first outlet in Penrith next Monday, September 20, and if you’re not within 5km of the new Mulgoa Road store, you might want to look away now.
The opening menu will include all the Five Guys faves including the hamburger, cheeseburger and bacon burger, which come with a choice of 15 fillings including lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, mushrooms and jalapeños, with customers able to order as many fillings as they like.

And then there’s the fries. Made from fresh potato, not frozen chips, the Five Guys fries are cooked in peanut oil and coated in a spicy Cajun seasoning.
Swap the soft drink for a shake, made from a creamy vanilla base with 10 premium mix-ins like crispy bacon, salted caramel and Oreo cookie pieces for you to express your creative genius.

The chain was started by a father and his four sons (hence Five Guys) in Arlington, Virginia in 1986. There are now over 1,500 Five Guys locations around the world, with another 1,500 currently in development.
Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group, the team behind The Meat & Wine Co, Ribs & Burgers and 6HEAD, is the brand’s master franchisee in Australia.
Robby Andronikos, Brand Manager of Five Guys Australia said: “It’s been an incredibly fun journey to bring the Five Guys opening to this point. A massive team effort from Five Guys, Seagrass BHG and the multiple Australian producers and businesses working in partnership to launch this brand with the exacting standards required. I’m excited to finally be able to open the doors to our first store in Penrith with many more Australian Five Guys restaurants on the horizon already planned.”

If you’re outside the 5km zone, you can rest assured knowing that Five Guys intend to open a further 20 outlets in various locations around Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in the coming months. Hopefully next time it’ll be in your neighbourhood.
