Now you can have your cake and drink it too.
Get ready for it, pink lattes are coming to an Instagram feed a near year. Black Star Pastry will be relaunching its cult famous Strawberry Watermelon Cake as a creamy latte, creating the ultimate coffee and cake combo.
The new Strawberry Watermelon Latte will be made from almond milk to mimic the almond dacquoise in the cake, with a dash of homemade syrup flavoured with strawberry, watermelon and rose. For a final olfactory hit, the stunning new sipper will be finished with a sprinkle of rose petals, a pinch of pistachio powder and a spritz of fragrant rosewater.

If you find you actually prefer your cake in a cup, you’ll also be able to try the Chocolate Mirage Cake in hot chocolate form, spiked with rooibos tea, caramel syrup, hazelnut paste and Madagascan Manjari chocolate. For a final dash of luxury, the hot choc will be dusted in chocolate and gold powder and served with a passionfruit chocolate and yuzu chocolate sun – the same symbol that decorates the cakes. That’s afternoon tea sorted.
The Strawberry Watermelon Latte ($7) and Hot Chocolate Mirage ($7) are available in all Sydney and Melbourne stores from September 1.
