Each Christmas parcel is filled with gooey chocolate truffle wrapped in mochi and dumpling pastry.
We can’t think of a better present than Din Tai Fung’s new red-and-green-striped mochi xiao long bao.
The new festively-flavoured dessert is inspired by Din Tai Fung’s famous soup-filled dumplings. Burst the wrapper to reveal chocolate truffle, double wrapped in a layer of mochi and festively striped dumpling pastry.
It’s not the first time Din Tai Fung has given its menu a makeover. The Taiwanese chain has previously delighted diners with giant rainbow dumplings for mardi gras and animal-shaped bao for the Lunar New Year.

Din Tai Fung’s xiao long bao are famous for their rich, gelatinous soup bellies and their consistency, with each dumpling measuring 4.8 – 5.2 grams, and containing 18 perfect pleats.
