Chef Matt Moran has picked up some new digs in Abercrombie Street, Sydney.
Chef Matt Moran has added yet another Sydney landmark to his growing hospitality empire, scooping up a major pub with his new business partner Bruce Solomon.
Central Park joint venture partners, Frasers Property Australia and Sekisui House Australia, today confirmed the sale of the site’s iconic The Australian Hotel and Abercrombie Heritage Terraces to Solotel Hospitality Group, owned by Solomon and Moran.
The purchase includes the original hotel building located on the corner site of Broadway and Abercrombie Street, as well as three heritage terrace houses fronting Abercrombie Street.
A large development around the site is expected, and Moran does not expect to open doors to the establishment until early 2018.
The move comes shortly after the chef joined forces with Solomon and his company Solotel, announced this week. The two will officially commence operating together under the Solotel name in the new financial year.
Solomon currently operates a portfolio of 20 hospitality venues in Sydney and Brisbane, including Opera Bar, The Sheaf, The Clock Hotel, The Paddington Inn and The Bank Hotel. Moran, meanwhile, has restaurants including Aria Sydney, Aria Brisbane, Chiswick Woollahra, North Bondi Fish and Aria Catering under his wing.
