Earlier this year the Maybe Frank team introduced their first drinks-focused offering in the Las Vegas-inspired Maybe Sammy. The cocktail bar itself was as sophisticated as its drinks list, emulating plenty of Hollywood glamour thanks to a concoction of pastel velvets, tropical wallpaper and marble tiling. And then there’s the drinks list – an array of tipples named after the Rat Pack, as well as an opulent selection priced from $70 dubbed High Rollers.

Now Maybe Sammy will be taking its chic self to the Big Apple, as a part of an international pop-up at famed bar Dante in Greenwich Village. Commencing on April 8, four international bars will be taking Dante hostage for five days each, where they will be serving up their own selection of Vermouth cocktails. Joining Maybe Sammy for the stint will be Miami’s Le Sirenuse, London’s Kwant, and Athens’ Odori.

“We’re so excited to bring some of the best bars in the world to Dante for this really unique series of pop-ups,” explains Dante’s Creative Director, Naren Young.

“Not only are we obsessed by the vermouth category at Dante and growing its popularity within New York, but these venues also represent a new wave that are also shining a light on vermouth in their own cities. It will be amazing to see the various bartending styles and creativity that each of them brings to the Big Apple.”

Maybe Sammy will claim residency at Dante from Monday 22 to Friday 26 April, and will be supported by Australia’s Regal Rogue vermouth. From 2.00-7.00pm each day, the bar’s co-owning trio Andrea Gualdi, Stefano Catino and Vince Lombardo will be showing New York how it’s done, with Gauldi at the helm.

Eight different cocktails based around Regal Rogue have been created for the pop-up. And while the ingredients of each drink haven’t yet been revealed, we’re sure they will be iconic. After all, they’re named after some of pop culture’s greatest icons, Doris Day, Ernest Hemingway and Marilyn Monroe included.
