The new restaurant will take over the iconic art deco site that was once home to The Bridge Room.
The trio from Pellegrino 2000 and Bistrot 916 are on track to open their third venue in three years. Hospo heavyweights Daniel Pepperell, Andy Tyson and Michael Clift will follow up their French bistro and Italian trattoria with a New York-inspired seafood grill and steakhouse, which is slated to open in 2023.
The yet unnamed venue will take over Ross Lusted’s former fine diner The Bridge Room on the corner of Bridge Street and Young. The heritage-listed site boasts a functionalist art deco facade, with an eye-catching band of windows looking out onto the street. “We are so thrilled to have nabbed such an iconic space,” Andy Tyson said. “We can’t wait to do it, and we are honoured to make this one shine.”

The New York-inspired grill will offer diners their pick of both the land and sea. “We’ll have a selection of different oysters, shrimp cocktail, charcoal turbot and a porterhouse for two,” Michael Clift explains.
If it’s anything like its predecessors, you’ll want to book well in advance.
More to come.
