A little bit of New York has landed on the Brisbane River.

A New York-style steakhouse is set to open in the W Brisbane later this month, under the expert hand of chef de cuisine, Pawel Klodowski. The Lex will welcome its first diners on June 15, who have no doubt been curious about the hotel’s signature space since the Three Blue Ducks departed late in 2022.

Being housed in the city’s first five-star hotel, expectations of The Lex are high and Klodowski feels confident that diners won’t be disappointed. “I put all my heart into carefully crafting every step of the dining journey along with the team and it’s been an incredible feeling to see this coming to life,” says the Polish-born chef.

“I can’t wait to reveal the experience to Brisbanites and guests to the city and showcase the unique culinary experience we’ve curated here.”

The menu leans heavily on the old-school swagger of a Manhattan steak house but with a few distinctly Brisbane twists, largely by championing Southeast Queensland produce – and of course, with a terrace overlooking the Brisbane River and the twinkling skyline.

Whether it’s an ice-cold oyster brine martini, a dry-aged local cut of beef cooked dramatically on the grill, or a tableside Caesar salad, The Lex will mirror the attitude that W Hotels are famous for; delivering familiar comforts in an unexpected and playful way.

To celebrate the launch of the Lex, W Brisbane is offering a Wine & Dine package offering guests overnight accommodation with valet parking, breakfast for two at The Lex and a $100 dining credit to enjoy at the new restaurant. From $549 per night. Available on stays from 15th June until 31st October.
