And did we mention it has karaoke too?

Jessi Singh has welcomed a new addition to the family. Joining Daughter in Law and Don’t Tell Aunty is new Indian restaurant Pinky Ji.

“Pinky Ji is the younger, sassier, and more independent version of our much-loved Daughter In Law. The menu in our new venue will bring all of the fun and unauthentic food that Daughter in Law is synonymous with to Sydney with a slightly more elevated twist,” restaurateur and chef Jessi Singh said.

The bold new eatery will add a much-needed splash of colour to its York Street location. Step inside for a technicolour dream of plush red velvet furniture and neon lighting with garlands of flowers strung up from the ceiling.

The menu will feature the ‘inauthentic’ Indian food for which Singh is known. Top orders include the spicy pilao and paneer spring rolls and whole flounder in curry butter. Steak night looks a little different at Pinky Ji, with rib-eye cooked in the tandoor oven and served with a truffle korma sauce. Drinks include Indian-inspired cocktails and craft beers, which you can help yourself to from the self-serve bar fridge.

Inner city suits can swing by on their lunch break for $20 thalis (assorted platter) during the week. On weekends, the restaurant hosts a brunch yum cha, where you can try delightful bites like vindaloo momo.

For the ultimate Bollywood experience, book the private dining room which has been kitted out with a state-of-the-art karaoke machine.
