Christmas at the Continental is always a good time, and it just got even better.

World-renowned pastry chef (and new Continental Deli shining star) Lauren Eldridge – who has worked at Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana in Modena and the three-Michelin-star Le Cinq in Paris – is getting into the festive spirit early.

Adding to the rolling line-up of signature canned goodies, please meet Eldridge’s own riff: the Christmas Pudd-tin. Using her great-grandmother’s Christmas pudding recipe, each pudding is generously filled with plump raisins, sultanas, currants, mixed citrus peel, allspice, nutmeg, ginger, cassia, cloves and plenty of brandy. And it comes with easy step-by-step prep instructions too.

Cooked directly in the can and labelled on-site, the pudding (and its accompanying canned traditional custard) is almost too pretty to eat. Almost. The old-fashioned labels dotted with bows and pine sprigs will look as pretty as a present under the tree, and make a great stocking stuffer or dessert come Christmas Day.

Available to pre-order now, pudding pick-ups start from December 1 and wrap up on Christmas Day. Puddings served 4-6 and are priced at $68 each, and custard cans are $18.
