Every year Messina brings us the best Christmas present by way of a totally over-the-top gelato trifle that promises to knock us out until at least New Year’s Eve.

This year’s trifle is an evolution of 2023’s Christmas Coma, with layers of strawberry and marsala jelly, lemon curd, strawberry gel, strawberry roulade, cream cheese chantilly, lemon custard gelato, strawberry sorbet, and vanilla meringue.

Take a deep breath and grab your stretchy pants because those are a lot of festive flavours.

But wait, there’s more! Nothing says Christmas like going completely overboard so the Messina gang are throwing in a one-litre bottle of brandy custard alongside the OTT trifle.

Each trifle is designed to feed 20-30 people but we have faith in you.
