Melburnians are in for a rare treat. Indian Accent, one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, is gearing up to host a very limited pop-up event at Tonka, from August 11 to 13.
The New Delhi-based restaurant has outposts in Mumbai and New York, and has become known for its menu that challenges traditional perceptions of Indian cuisine. It will be offering guests a nine-course meal crafted by Indian Accent chef Manish Mehrotra out of the Melbourne favourite.

Hosted by celebrity chef Gary Mehigan, the pop-up event is set to showcase a fusion of Indian and Melbourne flavours, while Mehigan and Mehrotra will offer their insights on recipes and culinary techniques before taking part in a Q&A session.

At the heart of the three-night event will be the rare chance for Australians to try Indian Accent culinary signatures. Chef Mehrotra, renowned for his innovative approach to traditional Indian dishes, will bring his nostalgia-fuelled dishes to the Melbourne table for a truly memorable experience.

The menu will be paired with a selection of Brown Brothers wines or, for those who prefer a dry event, San Pellegrino Sans Cocktails will be on offer. Tickets for the exclusive nine-course meal with wine and cocktail pairings are expected to sell out quickly, so book early to avoid missing out.
