Nobody asked for this: Twisties releases new caviar flavour

Honestly, as this point nothing surprises us.

Just when you thought snack time couldn’t get any more ridiculous, Twisties has decided to drop Twisties Caviar on the unsuspecting public. Yep. The snack everyone knows and loves for its cheesy crunch is now infused with the sophisticated taste of caviar. Because apparently, nothing says “luxury” like a packet of black-hued cheesy puffs.

But there’s a catch.

The limited-edition flavour isn’t just about giving Aussies something new to munch on (and food writers fodder for sardonic headlines), Twisties is also running a social media giveaway where you can win one of 30 packs per day.

The new flavour won’t be available on supermarket shelves, so if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on a pack, you’ll be one of an elite few to experience the chippies, which combine the usual Twisties crunch with the briny taste of caviar. The brand promises this will “elevate your snacking experience”, but honestly, who asked for this?

According to Twisties brand manager Simon Odisho, “We’re taking Twisties to a whole new level with the launch of Twisties Caviar. People might be asking why we would combine the humble Twistie with one of the most luxurious flavours in the world, and we say to the critics – everyone deserves a bit of luxury in their life.”

This is 2024, people.

If you’re curious, the giveaway is happening on Twisties’ Instagram and Facebook channels, and given how rare these packs are, expect to see your feed flooded with #TwistiesCaviar posts. So, if you’re keen to taste a snack that’s somehow both familiar and wildly over the top, now’s your chance.
