Plot twist: company discovers customers actually like their product

They took our Celebrations away from us. And we were undone. But just when we’d finally worked our way through all the seven stages of chocolate grief – shock and denial, then six various stages of eating lots of chocolate – it has been revealed that Celebrations chocolate boxes are returning to supermarket shelves, just in time for Christmas in July. Like that’s actually a thing.

Mars Wrigley discontinued the chocolate boxes in November last year, citing rising importation costs (the chocolates are imported from Europe) as the reason for axing this beloved treat, ruining everyone’s Christmas well before most of us had even begun to think about putting up our tree in the process.

But apparently the public outrage was so great (as well it should be), the party-poopers at Mars Wrigley have finally woken up to themselves, and the chocolate boxes are making their glorious return this month.

“The consumer response demanding the return of Celebrations last year was incredible, so we are thrilled to bring Celebrations back to supermarket shelves around the country,” said Mars Wrigley marketing director Ben Hill in a company statement. “We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy them again and for hopefully many years to come.”

Thanks, Ben. We are grateful, but don’t think you’ll be getting any mini Bounty bars from us.

Launching back into the market from mid-July 2025 at $16 RRP, expect to see Celebrations across all major retailers by early September. So that’s Father’s Day sorted, then.
