Harissa 'saganaki' haloumi
This harissa, honey and cheese combination cannot be beat, and is a perfect starter for any occasion.
Ingredients (5)
- 1 1/2 tbs harissa
- 1 1/2 tbs runny honey
- 1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
- 250g haloumi, cut into 1cm-thick pieces
- Greek oregano or regular dried oregano, to scatter

1.Combine harissa and honey in a bowl and set aside. Heat oil in a non-stick frypan over medium-high heat and add the haloumi. Cook for 2-3 minutes until one side is golden brown. Turn the haloumi over and reduce heat to low. Add harissa and honey mixture, coating the haloumi and allow to bubble for a further 2-3 minutes until honey is lightly caramelised and bottom of haloumi is deep golden.

2.Remove from the heat and scatter with oregano. Serve immediately.
