Yes, you read that right. Hot and gooey Mars Bar cakes? Enough said.

Ingredients (7)

  • 150g dark (40% ) chocolate, chopped
  • 100g unsalted butter, chopped
  • 5 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 95g caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup (75g) plain flour
  • 1 Mars Bar, cut into 6 pieces
  • Whipped cream, to serve

Method

  • 1.
    Grease 6 x 1 cup (250ml) moulds and line bases with baking paper. Place chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (don’t let bowl touch the water). Cook, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth.

    Whisk eggs and sugar in a large bowl until smooth and sugar has dissolved. Whisk chocolate mixture into egg mixture, then sift over flour and stir to combine.
  • 3.
    Fill each mould with 1/4 cup batter. Place a piece of Mars Bar in the centre and cover with remaining batter. Chill overnight.
  • 4.
    Preheat oven to 210°C/190°C fan-forced. Place a baking tray in oven to preheat. Bake cakes straight from fridge on preheated tray for 13 minutes. Stand for 5 minutes. Turn onto serving plates. Serve with whipped cream.
