"The ouza colada was inspired by our friends at Maison Premiere in New York and their absinthe colada. A twist on the beloved classic piña colada, this exotic and fragrant tropical cocktail uses ouzo, Greece's iconic spirit. The sweetness of coconut and pineapple blends harmoniously with the diverse herbal flavours of ouzo, creating a delicious and unique drink.It's a fun, playful drink giving a great introduction to ouzo." – Ozge Kalvo

Ingredients (8)

  • 40ml ouzo (we used Plomari)
  • 15ml white rum (we used Flor de Caña)
  • 30ml cream of coconut (we used Coco Lopez)
  • 30ml pineapple juice
  • 15ml lime juice
  • 10ml egg white (or 10ml aquafaba - the liquid from a can of chickpeas)
  • Ice cubes, to chill, plus extra, to serve
  • Pineapple leaf, to garnish

Method

  • 1.
    Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for 15 minutes, or until very frothy. Strain into a tall glass over ice. Garnish with a pineapple leaf.
