Soy and sesame beef with Asian greens
Asian cuisines are all about balance - for every forkful of meat, there's a forkful of vegies. Serve this dish with steamed rice for something more substantial.
Ingredients (8)
- 1 garlic clove, finely grated
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
- 2 x 180g scotch fillet steaks, trimmed
- 150g snow peas, trimmed
- 250g frozen podded edamame, skins removed
- 1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
Don't forget you can add these ingredients to your Woolworths shopping list.

-
1.Mix garlic, sesame oil and 2 tablespoons soy sauce in a bowl, then use to coat steaks. Heat a non-stick frypan over medium heat, add steaks and cook for 4 minutes (reduce heat if the marinade starts to burn). Turn and cook for a further 1-2 minutes for medium-rare, or until done to your liking.
-
2.Meanwhile, cook snow peas and edamame in a saucepan of boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes until just tender, then drain and refresh in cold water. Mix chilli sauce with remaining 1 tablespoon soy in a bowl to make a dressing.
-
3.Thickly slice steak and serve with snow peas and edamame. Serve topped with sweet chilli dressing and sesame seeds.
