A massive Banksy exhibition is coming to Sydney next month

Banksy Exhibtion will open at Sydney Town Hall

Keep your eyes peeled.

Ever wanted to see Banksy art without having to hunt it down on the street? We kid you not, now you can. Aussie art lovers can see some of the infamous artists’ most iconic artworks all in one place.

The exhibition will head to Sydney’s Town Hall in January, 2024 and we cannot wait.

The Art of Banksy: Without Limits is an immersive exhibition that features more than 150 pieces of the artist’s most iconic works and will tour our capital cities. Following the staggering success of multimedia exhibitions of late (think Van Gogh Alive and Frida Kahlo: Life of an Icon), Banksy’s work will come to life through projected animations, installations, murals (of course), and sculptures.

There will be multiple rooms to experience the works. The Infinity Room will feature mirrored walls that will make the artworks seem like they go on forever. Banksy’s largest work to date, Dismaland – a project that popped in England in 2015 and depicted an apocalyptic theme park – is reimagined through projected video.

Works that have recently been created, but not been readily accessible will also be on display, including seven murals that originally popped up in war-torn Ukraine.

Brisbanians were the first to catch the exhibition before it headed to Adelaide’s the Myer Centre. Lucky Sydney is next before Melbourne and Perth.

Tickets are available for purchase on Tuesday, December 19.
The waitlist is open from 6pm AEST today, December 12.
