Ruff day?
The Langham has opened its doors to our furry friends and we couldn’t be more excited about a staycation in the heart of Melbourne, writes Danielle Norton.
Last year’s lockdowns led to a huge spike in pet ownership and now we all want to take our pandemic puppies with us when we holiday.

Pet pampering is no longer just the domain of the Queen and her corgis. Luxuriating in an executive terrace suite with space and fresh air for your pooch, you will delight in ordering your precious pal’s dinner from the pet’s private dining menu.

Freshly cooked beef fillet and vegetables mixed with braised barley are served on a silver platter (ok, silver dog bowl) and offered to your pup on a tray. A deluxe pet bed containing a welcome package of dog treats is placed at the foot of the king sized bed for humans which is just sumptuous. The staff greet everyone by name, including your doggo, and will even deliver a chew toy to your room to keep the puppy occupied.

As you’d expect, dogs are not able to visit the hotel’s fabulous Melba restaurant or the decadent Aria bar, so order room service for dinner and cosy up with your favourite canine for the night.

In the morning, a full breakfast (juice, fresh coffee, a basket of baguettes and pastries, fruit and yoghurt, and a choice of eggs and sides) is delivered; take it in bed or on the terrace.
For those who have ‘furbulous’ felines, cats are also welcome at The Langham. Now, isn’t that just ‘purrfect’?
