If you love winter—especially winter a la northern Europe—then the lukewarm Aussie version of winter (aka ‘not sure if I need a coat today’) probably comes as a bit of a disappointment. Thankfully, there’s a popup for that. And it’s coming to a city near you.
There’s a snowy pop-up alpine village touring the country
Winter is coming.
Stay frosty
The Winter Village is an un-brrrr-lievable alpine-inspired winter wonderland which debuted in Melbourne in 2019. It was so successful, that the creators have decided to take it to three other cities this season.
Absolutely thaw-dropping
The magical snow-laden village comes complete with an ice skating rink, an igloo village, daily snow showers and plenty of wintery comfort food and drink pop ups to keep you from getting too chilly.
Extra #chill
The 2021 version has a flurry of new additions, including a weekend Brunch and Skate package, v. photogenic party igloos, and even extra snow showers to make sure you snag that all-important snap for the gram.
Ice, ice baby
The Winter Village will be bringing a its touring ice age to Melbourne’s Federation Square Skyline Terrace from 13th May – 29th August, Adelaide’s Torrens Parade Ground from 14th May – 5th September, Brisbane’s Northshore Riverfront Event Site from 3rd June – 29th August and Perth’s Northbridge Ice Cream Factory from 28th May – 19th September.
What about Sydney?
As for Sydney, we can reveal that the organisers are hoping to bring the winter village to the harbour city, however they’re yet to confirm a site for the popup. So, nothing is definite. Stay tuned for updates.
