Australia’s first Kimpton hotel opens its doors this month.
Set within one of Sydney’s most magnificent heritage buildings, the former Sydney Water Board headquarters, Kimpton Margot Sydney will officially begin welcoming guests from February 1, 2022.

The original 1939 Art Deco style building retains many of its original features, including the eight scarlet scagliola pillars that flank its iconic lobby.

The new five-star hotel will house 172 spacious deco-inspired rooms and suites – many of which have bathtubs – a rooftop swimming pool surrounded by a huge terrace and a swath of irresistible new dining options.

Among them, Luke’s Kitchen, which will be helmed by renowned chef Luke Mangan; 1930’s-style The Wilmot Bar, new level seven rooftop bar and wine experience Cellar By Luke.

Interiors pay homage to the building’s Art Deco origins, featuring plush velvet lounges, elegant touches of brass and a curated collection of some 600 artworks spread across its 9 levels.

Its location in the heart of Sydney’s buzzing southside puts the hotel mere footsteps from the nearby State Theatre and the QVB, and within walking distance to Surry Hills and Darlinghurst.
