It's been described as "nacho ordinary soft drink."
Just because we’re all stuck inside, doesn’t mean our tastebuds can’t take a vacay south of the border. (Although technically, it’s north of the border from here.)
Mexico’s favourite soft drink, Jarritos, is launching this week in Australia to help us all celebrate Cinco De Mayo in style on May 5.
The soda comes in nine iconic flavour combinations, including tamarind, mandarin, fruit punch, jamaica, lime, grapefruit, guava, pineapple and strawberry.
The unique flavours are the perfect compliment for those Aussies embracing a newfound cooking obsession. For those wishing to continue in the grand tradition of DIY coronavirus cocktails, we humbly suggest experimenting with the soft drink as an easy mixer for margaritas and paloma cocktails.
Jarritos is named for the tradition of aguas frescas, where water is flavoured with fruit and served in clay jugs to keep it cool during the hot Mexican summer.
The soft drink is famous for its distinctive glass bottle and wild rainbow hues. It was first launched in the 50s and sells a whopping 250 million bottles annually.
Jarritos soft drinks are now available for home-delivery via Mexican takeaway giants Mad Mex and Guzman y Gomez, as well as online from Dan Murphys. It will also be stocked at IGA and some local Mexican restaurants like Bad Hombres and Rosa Cienfuegos.
