It’s making a splash.
Le Meridien has been brought back to Australia and its first hotel to reintroduce the brand to the country is Le Meridien Melbourne. Conveniently located on Bourke Street, overlooking the east of Melbourne, Parliament House and Spring Street, the hotel is just steps from art, culture and some of the city’s best restaurants.

Its prime location may be a drawcard for some tourists, but we have a sneaky suspicion the new rooftop pool will also play a big role in enticing guests to stay here. Located on Level 5, Le Splash is the showpiece rooftop pool and terrace that features an open-air bar, which serves cocktails, poolside snacks and gelato. All things that make for a great poolside sesh. Seasonally, Le Splash will host a pop-up cinema in collaboration with Melbourne International Film Festival and the French Film Festival. Adjoining the pool deck is a 24-hour TechnoGym complete with virtual personal trainers and a sauna.

While we could talk about the pool all day, let’s dive into the other details. There are 235 guest rooms, including 14 suites. Each of the rooms and suites feature mid-century furnishings and contemporary design. Think, soothing neutrals paired with pops of colour, chic marble bathrooms and custom joinery.

When it comes to food options there is a lobby cafe called Intermission that serves barista-brewed Axil coffee by day and transforms into a wine bar by night, serving petit plates and extensive list of local and imported rose wines. Head to the subterranean level and you’ll find Dolly. The low-list restaurant will be plating up European dishes by executive chef Christina Graebner who will utilise the best local Victorian produce on offer.

Brb, shoving our bathing suit in our bag and checking into Le Meridien Melbourne.
