We hate to rain on your parade, but it's not looking good.
Sydney is the home of New Year’s Eve. Thousands of people head to the harbour to watch the biggest display of fireworks in the world and ring in the New Year, which is why locals and visitors alike cross their fingers and hope for good weather. And thankfully the weather gods have answered our prayers.
AccuWeather is predicting New Year’s Eve in Sydney to reach highs of 27°C with periods of sunshine throughout the day, otherwise cloudy, and becoming breezy in the afternoon. Come night time, the temperature will drop to 21°C and it will be mainly clear and humid.
On New Year’s Day, Sydneysiders will greet 2025 with perfect beach weather, mostly sunny and reach highs of 30°C, but will become windier throughout the late afternoon and night. There’s a chance of a thunderstorm late in the night.
If you’re planning a New Years Eve party at home and keen to have it outdoors, throw your wet weather plans out the window because its set to be a pearler.
