It's a ‘oui’ from us.
As Qantas gears up for the launch of its new direct services between Perth and Paris – taking off July 12 – it has launched a French-inspired menu designed by its Creative Director of Food, Beverage and Service, Neil Perry. Passengers will be treated to a taste of Paris before they even land, as the new menu is packed with French classics.

“French cuisine is made up of so many amazing classic dishes,” says Perry. “We spent a lot of time developing a menu that captures the balance of richness and freshness in French flavours whilst also keeping an element of familiarity that our customers love.”
Menu highlights include beef fillet with pomme puree, snow peas and cafe de Paris butter, as well as a delicately fresh tuna Nicoise salad with olives, green beans and lemon dressing. In true French fashion, a pithivier of chicken and tarragon with onion puree, Gruyere gougeres and a duck and pistachio pâté en croute are included as appetisers and starters on the menu.

Perry’s personal favourite is the flavour-packed bouillabaisse of snapper and Skull Island prawns, which is served with potatoes and saffron aioli. Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted by the creme caramel and rum savarin with berries and chantilly cream, which are being plated up for dessert.
The drinks menu has been given a little spruce for the new route. Business Class passengers will also be able to sip on a French 75 throughout the Perth-to-Paris flight. For those unfamiliar with the cocktail, it’s a French classic that combines gin, lemon and sparkling wine and makes for the perfect aperitif.

But the menu isn’t the only update passengers can look forward to on the all-new Perth-to-Paris flight. The iconic Qantas pyjamas are being given a Parisian makeover. Designed by Australian designer, Martin Grant, a chic limited-edition set of pyjamas will be available on Business Class for customers en route to Paris. Say “au revoir” to the signature grey and “bonjour” to navy pyjamas that replace the flying kangaroo with an image of the flight journey between Australia and France. A matching amenity kit is also available.

The new menu is the perfect balance between Australia’s fresh produce and the flavours of France and has a certain je ne sais quoi that gets you excited for Paris. It’s a true testament to Qantas and Perry’s long standing relationship. Bon appétit and bon voyage.
The new menu will be available in Premium Cabins and across selected First and Business lounges throughout Australia. For more information or to book, visit qantas.com/au
