And you'll never guess where onboard it'll be served.
Masterchef judge and delicious. contributor George Calombaris and Qatar Airways have joined forces to bring Greek food to passengers flying out of Australia.
Passengers travelling in first, business, and also economy class, will be treated to the chef’s Greek-inspired dishes including avgolemono (a Greek egg and lemon soup), Bastourma beef short ribs and local favourites including Fraser Island crab with lemon marmalade and tabbouleh.
But the good news doesn’t stop there.
Calombaris also confirmed that the airline will be serving his classic moussaka on the debut signature menu.
It’s the second time the Doha-based airline has partnered with Calombaris, following their 2017 collaboration to celebrate the inaugural A380 service from Melbourne to Doha.
“I am thrilled to work with Qatar Airways for the second consecutive year and to make my cuisine available to even more Australian passengers travelling with the airline,” Calombaris said.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr Akbar Al Baker, said he was delighted to be working with one of Australia’s favourite chefs.
“We are excited to be able to bring Calombaris’ signature dishes to more Australian passengers this time around with our year-long partnership, and are certain his flair for creating dishes showcasing classic Greek flavours accompanied by fresh local produce will once again be a hit,” His Excellency said.
The new menu will be available to passengers from September 1 with flights departing from Sydney, Perth and Adelaide (Melbourne to follow from October 1).
