Sea it first.
Sydney’s most photogenic outdoor art exhibition, Sculpture by the Sea, is back for its 26th year. The iconic event will run from October 18 – November 4, 2024.

The 26th exhibition will feature artworks by James Rogers, John Petrie,
Stephen King and Paul Bacon who exhibited in the first Sculpture by the
Sea, Bondi in 1997. Acclaimed Japanese artists Haruyuki Uchida, Keizo
Ushio and Toshio Iezumi will exhibit, alongside nine other leading artists
from Japan.

There are more than 100 spectacularly grand artworks by Australian and international sculptors dotting the 2km coastline walk this year. The exhibition is expected to draw a massive crowd. It’s estimated that each year some 450,000 visitors (with their phone cameras at the ready) descend up the eastern coastline over the 18 days the exhibition runs.

In its 26 years, Sculpture by the Sea has introduced many different iterations of the original event. Including the very successful Cottesloe by the Sea, which gives art lovers on the other side of Australia a chance to experience the magic that is Sculpture by the Sea. Western Australia’s take on the event has been running for 20 years and usually takes place in March.

There’s also the 150km Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail, which is located halfway between Sydney and Melbourne and meanders from Adelong to Tooma along the picturesque Snowy Valleys Way.

Sculpture by the Sea Bondi is a free event that will run from October 18 – November 4, 2024. For more information, visit sculpturebythesea.com/bondi
