This is one for the bookworms.

Did you know there’s a secret library in St Paul’s Cathedral? Tucked away in one of London’s most iconic landmarks, sits the Hidden Library which is home to a curated collection of 22,000 books. The collection ranges from timeless classics to Penguin Random House US’s latest releases.

In celebration of World Book Day (March 7), Airbnb is inviting bookworms to an overnight stay in the Hidden Library at St Paul’s Cathedral, hosted by Abby Parker of BookTok’s @abbybooks.

The overnight experience will kick off with guests entering St Paul’s Cathedral through the Dean’s door and climbing the famous Geometric Staircase that was designed more than 300 years ago. At the top of the staircase, guests will enter the doors to the secret library space before being greeted by the Dean of St Paul’s before touring the Cathedral.

On the night of the stay, guests will be treated to dinner at a nearby restaurant before returning to the Hidden Library to settle in for the night and tuck into a good book. Breakfast is included the next morning before guests are invited to climb the breathtaking dome of St Payul’s Cathedral.

Like all good libraries, there are some rules that guests will need to follow. These include no eating or drinking, speaking quietly, returning books to their original spot on the shelf, and phone usage strictly reserved for creating #BookTok content.

This isn’t the first time Airbnb has opened up exclusive spaces to the public. Last year it opened Shrek’s Swamp to guests as well as the pub featured in Ted Lasso, giving fans of the movie or show a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

This exclusive Airbnb stay is available for two lucky guests for just one night on March 15, 2024. Guests can request to book this stay at 10am GMT (9pm AEDT) on March 12, 2024. It will cost £7 ($14 approx.) for the night, with breakfast and dinner included. For more information or to book, visit airbnb.com/hiddenlibrary
