Whatever you call it, it sounds like biscuity, boozy goodness.
We’ve had hot cross bun gin, a lamington-inspired bottled cocktail, and now a new dessert-drink hybrid has joined the game: Anzac biscuit whisky.
Of course, makers NED Whisky can’t call it that – the rules around what you can apply the Anzac name to are very strict if you’re selling something – but we can. So we are.
Officially, it’s named Golden Bickie Whisky, and the Aussie whisky company says it’s “inspired by classic Australian bickies and cake sales”. Technically a flavoured whisky liqueur, it has notes of golden syrup, coconut and oat.
NED suggests you serve it neat, over ice or on ice cream, but its true potential might be in cocktails. Imagine an Anzac old-fashioned, the bickie notes playing off the hint of orange and bitters; or a sweeter apple-based tipple. Get some more ideas here.

Of course, to bring it full circle, you could always add it to one of our whisky-infused dessert recipes, like this whisky affogato, Emma Knowles’ whisky-maple dumplings (with golden syrup swapped back in if you’re a fan of the good stuff), or a simple whisky-chocolate fudge.
Golden Bickie is is available for pre-order now.
