Come, sit, stay.

You won’t need to stuff your pockets with Schmackos when you visit Corgi Garden in Brisbane’s inner west. The quirky cafe has drinks and snacks such as chicken or beef tartare with puppuccinos that are aimed at canine companions.

Owners Stephen Tam and Amy Chung turned to their three-year-old corgi KitKat for inspiration when they dreamt up the concept for the corgi-themed café, Corgi Garden. The couple also went so far as to sniff out a venue in Brisbane’s back streets where customers with pets in tow would feel safe. Corgi Garden is located down a quiet cul de sac surrounded by office buildings in the leafy suburb of Milton. So, when nearby workers want a break, they can pat KitKat.

Stephen and Amy also have another doggo, border collie TimTam, which makes cameos at the quirky café. And the city’s newest pet-friendly cafe doesn’t discriminate. On any given day, you’re likely to find owners parading their well-behaved pooches around the pet-friendly café. Every dog has its day here amid the outdoor seating and perfectly placed water bowls. Expect schnauzers, dachshunds, labradors, cattle dogs, pugs, sausage dogs and teacup poodles to be part of the café’s canine scene.

The sunny space, which features yellow-and-white striped walls, and pops of neon signage, also offers corgi-themed snacks such as the corgi butt-shaped buns stuffed with Nutella and corgi-themed cappuccinos.

Did you have a big night out in Brisbane? Order the hangover-busting big breakfast for two so you can slip your doggo a few sausages.

Although Corgi Garden is open seven days, KitKat is only in residence on weekends. Those who want a petting session with KitKat should form an orderly queue. This fetching four-legged fur baby has a lot of fans.
