Hello Beau.
Yet another new wine bar has opened in Surry Hills. The only problem now is choosing between them. Joining high-profile newcomers like Gildas and Bar Copains comes Beau Bar, a slick new offering from the team behind Nomad.
Beau Bar can be found down a private laneway on Reservoir Street, tucked behind sister venue Beau & Dough.

While Beau & Dough caters to the breakfast and lunch crowds with freshly baked manoush and Middle Eastern treats, Beau Bar offers a sleek spot out back for lazy afternoon wines and late-night cocktails.
The Beau Bar menu favours small Mediterranean-style plates, designed to be enjoyed drink in hand. Seafood is a focus, with dishes like kingfish tabbouleh with sesame leaf and Southern rock lobster with seaweed salsa verde. Sample a bit of everything on the ‘on ice’ platter, which features a daily changing selection of fresh and raw seafood along with dressings and condiments.

The long narrow space is lined with caramel banquettes with a long central bar running down the centre of the room. Behind the bar, a temperature-controlled wine wall showcases bottles from the 300-strong wine list. If you’re only staying for a drink or two, try one of the 25 wines available by the glass. The selection has a strong International accent, which trickles down to local small-scale producers.
