If you’re a burger lover, look away.
In news that no true burger lover wanted to hear, the iconic burger joint, Mary’s, has shut up shop at its CBD outpost on Pitt Street. Sydneysiders, especially those that work in the CBD, have had nine blissful years of delicious fried chicken burgers and the signature Mary’s burger at their doorstep. But that is no more.
Without any warning the edgy burger shop put up a handwritten sign on it’s closed doors stating the burger shop was closed for good. And while it was one of the most conveniently located stores in the Mary’s network, we have found some comfort in the fact we’re not bidding adieu to Mary’s for good.
If you ever have a hankering for one of their irresistibly good burgers you can always head down the road to the Circular Quay store. Not in the city? There’s always the original restaurant in Newtown, where you can indulge on a burger and drink while listening to live music. There’s also shops in Castle Hill and the Entertainment Quarter if you find yourself around there.
RIP, Mary’s CBD. You will be missed.
