Ingredient Guide

We've been cooking up a new season of Make it delicious. Here's everything you need to know

Coming in hot this June!

Ever wondered what to do with kangaroo, what to make with wattleseed, or how to get the most out of macadamias?

You’ll find all the answers and more on Make it delicious. – Flavours of Australia, a new video series created in partnership with Massel that will show you how easy it is to incorporate native ingredients into your everyday cooking.

Chef, cookbook author and co-owner of Three Blue Ducks, Darren Robertson, will return for Make it delicious. season 2, this time, with special co-host, fellow chef and Indigenous foods expert Nornie Bero.

Originally from Mer Island in the Torres Strait, Nornie Bero now lives in Melbourne where she is the founder, executive chef and CEO of Mabu Mabu, which includes top local restaurant Big Esso and a thriving catering business. Nornie is one of the foremost ambassadors of the Australian Indigenous foods industry, and the best person to walk you through the unique properties, flavours and uses for native ingredients.

Mabu Mabu, Vic

In every episode, Nornie shares her knowledge of an array of native ingredients, while Darren devises a simple recipe using those ingredients that can be whipped up at home. The series steers away from fine-dining restaurant food, delivering delicious everyday dishes to cook up for yourself and your family any night of the week.

Recipes you’ll learn how to cook include a hearty kangaroo bolognese, lemon myrtle fish cakes and mushroom and wattleseed risotto. Prepare to be inspired!
