We're stocking up.
German supermarket chain Aldi is bringing a touch of sweetness to Aussie tables with its new range of gelato tubs, featuring a trio of crowd-pleasing flavours that you’ll want to hide from your housemates.
Just in time to compete with Messina’s new supermarket range which landed at Woolies earlier this month, Aldi has released a classic nutty pistachio tub which captures the essence of traditional Italian gelato. An ideal option for those who love a little sophistication.
For those who prefer a zesty twist, go for the refreshing citrus burst of the lemon gelato, a palate cleanser when you “couldn’t possibly” eat another bite, or as a party starter when fizzed with a splash of prosecco. We hear the silly season calling.
And let’s not forget about the Christmassy speculoos flavour, inspired by the spiced shortbread cookie. Speculoos, for the uninitiated, is the same as Biscoff, and hails from the kingdom of cosy, Belgium. This gelato combines a creamy base with the warm spices of cinnamon and nutmeg, which makes every season festive season.
At a generous 500ml, all three flavours will only set you back $5.99. In the freezer section now, check availability at your nearest Aldi supermarket at the Aldi website.
