Fans thought the beloved chocolate bar was gone forever after the cult item vanished from supermarket shelves. Now there’s an update.
A beloved chocolate is now back on shelves after a “short hiatus” left fans scrambling to find it in their local supermarket.
Customers have had a rough couple of years trying to get their hands on Bounty chocolate bars, with the coconutty sweet treat first disappearing from supermarket shelves in 2024.
Fans were quick to assume the chocolate, which also vanished from Celebrations boxes, had been discontinued.
However, it was because production had moved to Europe from Australia, and capacity constraints meant that “Australian consumers may be experiencing stock shortages in some areas of the country”, according to a Mars spokesperson.
Now, after two long years, eagle-eyed shoppers have spotted the chocolate back in stores.

Popular gluten-free-food content creator Kati Keksi took to Facebook to share a picture of the bar.
“Bounty has had quite the journey over the last few years,” she said. “First it was Aussie made (may contain gluten), then Netherlands (gluten free) and now … Egypt (gluten free)!
“Bounty has been missing from Woolworths since they ditched the Aussie ones, but now it’s back and gluten free.”
And yes, it’s true, the chocolate is officially back on shelves at Woolworths after a “short hiatus”, a Mars spokesperson confirmed to news.com.au.
‘We’re thrilled that Bounty is back on the shelves at Woolworths, after a short hiatus,” the spokesperson said. “We’ve recently made changes to our global sourcing to ensure there’s a more consistent stock of Bounty for fans in Australia.”
The bars returned to Woolworths earlier this month.
