Our wishlist this Easter is getting quite egg-stensive.

Old-school sweet treats will always hold a special place in the lolly aisle of our hearts. But when those old-school treats get a new-school spin-off, it’s easy to find more shelf room to include them.

For many years, Aussie chocolate fans impatiently awaited the return of their beloved Polly Waffle. When it finally did come back – albeit in ‘bite-size’ form – there was dancing in the streets. (Or was that just me? Yes, sorry. That was just me.)

Now, Polly Waffle fans have a reason to get excited all over again, with the release of not one, but three new Polly Waffle Easter treats – a Polly Waffle Easter Egg, a Polly Waffle Easter Bunny and a Polly Waffle Egg & Bunny Gift Box. All three feature the irresistible blend of milk chocolate, marshmallow and wafer that made this chocolate bar so popular for so long. And then they took it from us. Am I bitter? Maybe a little. Am I still in therapy? Quite possibly.

These will be joined by the Bubble O’Bill Easter egg, which returns for another o’year. Coated in strawberry-marbled milk chocolate that’s been mixed with crunchy caramel and chewy berry pieces, the egg contains five of the biggest bubblegum noses in the west.

But hold your horses – don’t gallop down to the supermarket just yet. There’s more.

Also available this year are two Violet Crumble Easter eggs – a regular-style Easter egg and (be still, my cream-egg-loving heart) a choc-honeycomb cream egg. Look, just take my money now. Take all of it.

And to top all this off, Golden Gaytime Easter eggs are also returning to stores this Easter.

How am I going to fit this all in before Easter ends? Better start now. But I think I need a little lie down first.
