Hold the damn phone. Woolworths has released a limited edition birthday cake mud cake and the adorable white chocolate and vanilla beauty is all our birthdays and Christmases rolled into one.

Arguably the queen of all cakes (as far as Australians are concerned anyway), the incredibly rich dessert has made its way into our hearts and become a staple at office parties, family gatherings and even the odd wedding or two. Considering you can please a crowd for less than a tenner is but a small bonus. The birthday cake flavour is the latest in a series of limited-run specials, which has previously included a Caramilk, and a cookies and cream version.

Now the birthday cake flavour is skipping the middleman and evidently has its sights set on parties for young and old. A mass of white chocolate ganache, sprinkles, crumbled cookie pieces and a white chocolate drizzle top the rainbow sprinkle-dotted vanilla mud cake which rolls out across all Australian states and territories today, May 31 and retails for just $6.80.
