Two of your favourite cocktails come together in this deliciously punchy drink. It's all about being bright and bold in this easy cocktail recipe, mixing sweet cherry tomatoes with a squeeze of sharp lime and a dash of peppery Tabasco to round off the vibrant flavours. It wouldn't be a Bloody Mary Margarita without the all-important tequila and cointreau, and a good splash of red tomato juice for that iconic colour. Brace yourself - this cocktail is sure to put a kick in your step.

Ingredients (10)

  • 1/3 cup (80ml) white tequila
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) lime juice
  • 100ml tomato juice
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Tabasco, or to taste
  • 2 tsp celery salt
  • Ice
  • Cherry tomatoes, to garnish
  • Celery, to garnish

Method

  • 1.
    Combine tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, tomato juice, sugar and Tabasco in a jug or cocktail shaker. Stir (or shake) well.

    Place celery salt in a small pile on a plate. Wet the rim of two short glasses, then run rims through the celery salt to coat the edges. Fill glasses with ice, then pour over the margarita mixture. Garnish with celery and cherry tomatoes.
