French 'pizza' of cheese and ham
"Funnily enough, I discovered this recipe in a pizzeria in Provence and found it stood up really well to Italian pizzas." – Rick Stein

Topping
- 250g creme fraiche

CloseMethod
-
1.Mix flour and 1/2 tsp salt flakes in a bowl, then add 150ml lukewarm water and oil and combine to form a rough dough. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured board and knead until well combined and smooth.
-
2.Roll the dough into two 25cm x 28cm rectangles then transfer to a baking tray lined with baking paper.
-
3.Preheat the oven to 230°C/210°C fan-forced (or as hot as your oven will go). Spread the creme fraiche over the dough, leaving a little border around the edges, then dot with the onion, smoked bacon and grated cheese. Season to taste and sprinkle with nutmeg.
-
4.Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the base is crisp and the cheese is bubbling. Serve immediately.
