You can now stay the night in the famous balloon house from the movie 'Up'

Up House floating

Yes, we're absolutely crying.

Delightful! Airbnb has once again transported us into a world of animated wonder, this time offering guests the opportunity to experience the magic of Pixar’s Up firsthand. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the film, Airbnb has recreated the iconic house of Carl Fredricksen, complete with its whimsical floating balloons. Don’t worry, you won’t float away, but you will be hoisted into the air with a giant crane.

Perched – well, floating – amidst the red rocks of Abiquiu, New Mexico, the recreation of Carl and his late wife Ellie’s home guarantees big feelings and big whimsy. With over 8,000 balloons lifting the house into the air, you can live out your daydreams of floating away and starting an adorable new life.

Inside the Up house, guests will find themselves immersed in the charm of the film, with nods to Carl and Ellie’s lives, and grand new adventures scattered throughout, including Carl and Ellie’s chairs where you can sit and cry for as long as you like. With everything from photos of the couple to Russell’s trusty backpack (complete with more scout patches than you can poke a stick at) and Dug’s cosy bed, every detail has been meticulously crafted to create the perfect cartoon holiday.

Carl has even left a note on the Airbnb listing inviting you to, ‘kickstart your very own Adventure Book and watch as my house drifts off before you depart.’ STOP IT.

But the experience doesn’t stop there. Guests are invited to take part in a bunch of activities inspired by the world of Up, from tending to Carl’s mail to embarking on wilderness excursions and stargazing under the night sky.
