For my brother Jordan and I, living and modelling in NYC for more than a decade was an experience like no other. Aside from working with top fashion brands, including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Armani, we found time to hit many a great restaurant, and indulged in the culture of this hustling bustling city that has one of the most diverse cultures in the world.

Even if you only visit one part of NYC, you absolutely must head to SoHo/ TriBeCa for the quirky restaurants, eclectic fashion appeal and fabulous hotels. It’s unmissable.
There’s more than just a handful of must-visits in NYC when it comes to restaurants, but one of my favourites is Uchu for traditional Japanese food and some of the best sashimi I’ve ever tasted, prepared by a true Japanese master.
ABC Kitchen is awesome for innovative, fabulously presented dishes, using farm-to-table produce under Michelin-starred French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
The cocktails are also some of the best. As far as local delicacies go, our recommendation is to try as many New York cheesecakes as you can. There are so many interpretations around, it’s hard to choose a winner.

When our friends visit NYC, we have a list of ‘can’t miss experiences’ we give them: walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, bike through Central Park, go to an NBA basketball game or NHL hockey match, attend a concert at Madison Square Garden and go to a Broadway show. But my biggest tip is to walk everywhere you can… you can see so much of the city that way.

New York City has so many amazing cultures all mixed into one place – there’s so much life in what’s a relatively small area. It really is the very definition of an arts and cuisine hub!
