Bar geeks, deploy.
This could be the bar collab of the decade. From April 12 to 19, sixteen of the world’s best bartenders will be landing in Australia for the very first Maybe Cocktail Festival. Hosted by The Maybe Group (Maybe Sammy, Dean and Nancy on 22) and Public Hospitality (Minskys, the Marrickville Ritz, The Toxteth), the festival will see bar talent from 12 of The World’s 50 Best Bars of 2022 (plus three from the 51-100 list) take part in bar events across Sydney.
Each bartender will take up residency at one of five bars (The Maybe Group’s Maybe Sammy, Dean & Nancy, Sammy Junior and the soon-to-open El Primo Sanchez, as well as Public Hospitality’s new Darlinghurst venue, The Strand Hotel Rooftop). Here, they’ll take on one three-hour high-energy shift, during which they’ll showcase their bartending prowess, cocktail creations and hospitality hutzpah.

Visiting bartenders will be coming from everywhere from Argentina (Tres Monos) and Colombia (Alquímico) to Thailand (BKK Social Club) and the US (Café La Trova, Overstory and Sweet Liberty).
These epic events are also free to attend. But steady your bar stools, friends. The full program won’t drop until March. Head to the festival website or Maybe Sammy Insta page to stay up to date with all the latest developments.
