The new Senpai Concepts will serve the same ramen you know and love, plus burgers, sushi and more.
If you’re a fan of Chase Kojima’s moreish “bunless” nori-wrapped rice burgers, you’re in luck. The head of the Sokyo empire has announced the rebranding of his Chatswood and Burwood Senpai Ramen restaurants to pave the way for Senpai Concepts, launching with a fan-favourite rice burger on Thursday, June 1.

The current Senpai Ramen venues will receive a makeover and reopen later in the year as Senpai Concepts, where a varied menu will reflect Kojima’s Japanese heritage as well as his upbringing in California. The goal is to give patrons an expanded menu of Kojima’s dishes, from sushi and ramen to burgers, steaks and everything in between. Excitingly, this revamp will also include the addition of a third Concepts venue, a 10-seat omakase right next door to the Chatswood outpost.

As for the Senpai burger, the nori-roll-hamburger hybrid will give diners a chance to try Kojima and business partner Howin Chui’s exceptional quality food at a reasonable price, with nothing on the menus landing over $20. There will be a swag of variations including fried chicken, salmon, tuna and beef patties. Plant-based diners haven’t been left behind, as a partnership with Impossible Meats will cater to vegan eaters.
Senpai Concepts is located at Emerald Square 27-31 Belmore Road, Burwood and 88 Archer Street, Chatswood.
