Start queuing.
It’s the pastry emporium that’s worth its very own return flight to Melbourne each morning and now Sydney will finally be getting a taste.
Initially, the croissant shop was slated to open in Chippendale, but owner and croissant extraordinaire Kate Reid has now confirmed that they’ve secured a site in the new Oxford & Foley development on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, just across from the Stonewall Hotel.
Lune will occupy a 300 sqm shopfront in the new retail and dining precinct, with a heritage facade that opens up onto a pedestrian laneway.
Kate Reid said: “We could not be more thrilled to have secured this marquee space in the beautiful Oxford & Foley development. One of the most iconic hospitality precincts in Sydney, the prospect of Lune being in the neighbourhood of many heavyweight Sydney greats in Darlinghurst and Surry Hills is incredibly exciting for us, and we only hope to add to this with our specific brand of buttery deliciousness. We can’t wait to show the world what we have in store for Lune Sydney!”

If it’s anything like the existing croissanteries in Melbourne and Brisbane, the new outpost will churn out their famous butter croissants alongside a changing selection of flavours, which could include a choc cherry black forest croissant or a jam and cream-filled lamington cruffin.
One thing you can count on will be the impressive queues out the door, with no one ever sorry they waited.
