This luxe tiny home proves big things do come in small packages.
Stella the Stargazer is a tiny home like no other. The limited-edition, off-grid stay was built using salvaged and repurposed steel and timber. Ample are the brains behind the sustainably-built accommodation. The local design and manufacturing firm specialises in building transportable boutique spaces, which is a big part of what makes Stella so unique.
The mini home will be on the move, visiting three glorious Victorian regions over eight-week intervals. First up, Gippsland. From now, till mid December, Stella will spend spring among the vines at Blue Gables Vineyard.
Perched high above the picturesque Newry flats, come nightfall it’s the perfect spot for stargazing, which can be done from the comfort of your queen-sized bed thanks to a bespoke roll-out sleeping platform. If you’ve dreamed of sleeping under the stars, sans having to rough it, now’s your chance.
Stargazing isn’t the only highlight of staying at Stella. While small, you’ll still have access to all your creature comforts, including solar power, phone reception (if you like), a fridge, woodfire stove and cooktop with crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking essentials.

For $190, you can treat yourself to a dinner for two that has been curated by chef Alejandro Saravia from the renowned Farmers Daughters restaurant. Alejandro will be preparing an individual menu for guests to heat, plate and enjoy together per region. The menu will showcase the best seasonal produce Victoria has to offer.
The Gippsland menu features roasted pumpkin paired with Stracciatella and burnt Tambo Valley honey, as well as Cherry Tree Organics roasted lamb shoulder. The premium dinner pack will also include Farmers Daughters Vermouth, made with Gippsland botanicals, and Alejandro’s bottle of choice from Blue Gables.
Following Stella’s eight-week stint in Gippsland, it will spend summer (February 3 – April 6) on the coast at a soon-to-be-revealed location along the Great Ocean Road. Come autumn (April 17 – June 18) Stella will be by the mountains in The Grampians. Whether you’re looking for a summer escape by the shore or want be a stone’s throw from some of Victoria’s epic walking tracks, Stella the Stargazer will be at a spot that’s right for you.
