Check us in! 202 Elizabeth is a fun new addition to Sydney’s boutique hotel scene.

Sydneysiders have been treated to a suite of new boutique hotel openings over the last six months. First they welcomed Parisian themed, The Strand in Darlinghurst. Followed by contemporary-cool Oxford House in Paddington. And now Surry Hills has welcomed 202 Elizabeth, for those travellers who don’t shy away from being OTT.

The new designer boutique hotel can be found in the beating heart of Surry Hills on Elizabeth Street. Steps away from some of the inner-city suburb’s finest restaurants – hello neighbours Chin Chin and Nomad – and just minutes from Central Station, 202 Elizabeth is located on prime real estate.

The hotel features 38 eclectically styled rooms, spread over six intimate levels. No two guest rooms are the same, with striking wallpapers from Kingdom Home Design adorning the walls and giving each room its own personality. A selection of curated vintage and one-off pieces adorn public spaces, as well as works by Australian artists – like, Ash Leslie, Johnny Payne Ngale and Lean Timms – and furnishings by Sarah Ellison, Rachel Donath and McMullin & Co.

The jewel in the crown is The Lizzy, a grand suite poised on the top floor that boasts a double vanity, walk-in rain shower, bathtub, lush king-size bed and is perfectly furnished with unique, heritage pieces contrasted with modern furnishings.

Many of the rooms include balconies that overlook the bustling streetscape below. But if your room doesn’t have one, do not fret. Head up to the rooftop deck, where you can take in sweeping views of the city and stay for a sundowner as a pop-up bar opens on the deck, nightly. While there’s currently no on-site dining option, a wine bar will be opening on the ground floor soon and will be exclusively reserved for guests of the hotel.

I think I see a staycation with my name on it.

Prices start from $350 per night. For information or to book, visit 202elizabeth.com.au
