Weddings, parties, dancing... it's all back on from next week.
Crack the champers, deck the halls and prep your silliest victory dance (or bungee jump, as the case may be), NSW has announced a major easing of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions from Monday December 7th. Dancing, big weddings, parties and outdoor gatherings are all officially back on, from next week.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the changes at a press conference yesterday afternoon, giving us all the little bit of Christmas cheer we needed to finally embrace the festive season.

NSW restrictions updated for second week of December
Hospitality venues, places of worship and retailers will be allowed to have one person per 2 square metres of space, which is up from the previous restriction of one person for every four square metres. 25 people will be allowed in before the rule applies.
The only places that don’t qualify for the new restrictions are gyms and nightclubs, which are subject to the previous restriction guidelines of one person per four square metres and a maximum of 50 people allowed in classes or on dance floors.

NSW restrictions on gatherings will also be easing
Outdoor stadiums and theatres will once again be permitted to operate at 100% seated capacity, with indoor stadiums and theatres allowed to fill up to 75% of their available capacity for the first time since COVID restrictions were introduced.
On top of that, big weddings and outdoor gatherings are back. Up to 100 people will be allowed to gather in one place, as long as it is outside. This is up from the previous limit of 50 people.
